Canine Conditioning & Stretching Seminar

Stay tuned for future dates! Location @ Fidelco Guide Dogs Training Center (103 Vision Way, Bloomfield CT)

In this seminar you will learn about Canine Conditioning & Stretching, how they are different and why they are so beneficial for your dog. Learn to see your dog in a whole new way.

You will learn foundational fitness and conditioning exercises that you can incorporate into your daily life with your dog. These muscle building exercises help to strengthen your dog’s core, increase muscle in forelimbs and hindlimbs to support major joints, prevent injury in both young and senior dogs and deepen your relationship with your dog. Working with our dogs in this way, changes how we see our dogs and our understanding of how physical structure drives behavior. We will also discuss special considerations when working with your dog.

Canine Stretching involves slower stretches with longer holdings. These stretches can be performed from a standing, sit or down position. We begin with Calm Touch™ to connect and relax our dogs, leading into a series of stretches. Where canine conditioning focuses on strength, stretching focuses on flexibility. Balancing strength and flexibility, we can support our dog’s in their everyday lives so they can live as long and with the best quality as possible.

If you register for a working spot, you will attend with your dog and your dog will participate in all exercises and stretches during our seminar. Dogs may also be used to demonstrate different concepts. If you register for an audit spot, you will be attending without a dog. You will be learning all of the same information as those who select a working spot, able to ask questions and take notes to bring home with you.
